Gotlands infanteriregemente : ウィキペディア英語版
Gotland Infantry Regiment

The Gotland Infantry Regiment ((スウェーデン語:Gotlands infanteriregemente)), designations I 27 and I 18, was a Swedish Army infantry regiment that traced its origins back to the 19th century. It was reorganized into an armoured regiment in 1963. The regiment's soldiers were originally recruited on the island of Gotland, and it was later garrisoned there.
== History ==

The regiment has its origins in the unit Gotlands nationalbeväring which was created in 1811. That unit was reformed into two separate units, Gotlands infanteriregemente and Gotlands artillerikår, in 1887 and the infantry regiment gained the designation I 27 (27th Infantry Regiment). It was reorganised as the battalion size unit Gotlands infanterikår with the new designation I 18 in 1928. It got its regimental name back in 1937. Gotlands infanteriregemente then was reorganized into the armoured Gotlands regemente in 1963.
